Gestalt Therapy

This form was developed by Fritz Perls in the late 40's and 1950's after he had become disenchanted with pure psychoanalysis. Perls considered that the body and mind had equal importance within psychotherapeutic work.

Gestalt therapy can be a very active and involves more than lying on a couch" it is generally a group based therapy. This is an active form both physically, verbally, and mentally.

Working with the belief that the awareness we have is not not a thinking awareness but a deeper awareness which we learn throughout life and can release, realize and develop by working physically and with Projection, Retroflection and Introjection.
